Continuation of Siya's POV..
Right now, we were in the car.
From the corner of my eyes, i could feel Rana-sa looking at me again and again. His attention felt more on me than on the road. I didn't say anything—just kept my gaze fixed outside the window, pretending not to notice. Still, my heart beat a little faster every time i felt his eyes on me.
Soon, the car stopped. Rana-sa unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and stepped out. Nervousness crept into my chest the moment i saw the place. This was the first time i would be publicly seen with him— surrounded by so many people. A little distance away, media personnel and reporters were already gathered, cameras raised, clicking nonstop the moment Rana-sa stepped out.
He came around to my side and opened the door for me. It was such a small gesture—almost nothing—but it overwhelmed me. These days, everything he did felt different... softer. He extended his hand toward me and without thinking twice, i placed my hand in his and smiled.
The moment i stepped out, flashes exploded around us. Cameras. Reporters. Voices calling out. The sudden lights startled me and instinctively, my fingers tightened around Rana-sa's hand. I was kind of nervous.
Rana-sa leaned slightly toward me and whispered near my ear, "Relax. I'm here." He gave me a brief smile. Then his expression changed—his eyes darkened as he looked toward the reporters and media. Almost immediately, the cameras lowered— just one look and it was enough. The chaos settled.
I couldn't help but think, 'Yeh sabko bas aankhein hi dikhate rehte hain... aur sab darr bhi jaate hain.' (He just show his eyes to everyone… and everyone gets scared too.) But then i felt something warm spread inside me. He understood me... without me saying a word. Then we stepped forward into the hotel and entered the party hall.
I was dressed simply yet elegantly in a black saree— soft fabric flowing around me, light jewellery resting against my skin. Nothing loud, nothing extra... yet i felt every single pair of eyes turn toward me. There were so many people.
As we walked in, a man approached Rana-sa and extended his hand. "Welcome, Hukum-Rana-sa." Rana-sa returned the handshake with a nod.
Then the man joined his palms respectfully and looked at me. "Welcome, Hukum-Rani-sa." I just smiled politely and nodded not knowing what to do.
As we moved further inside, i could feel people staring—like i was something unusual, something they were trying to understand. Uncomfortable, i hooked my arm more tightly with Rana-sa's.
He glanced at my hand on his arm, then at me and gave a small reassuring smile. Businessmen soon surrounded us, greeting Rana-sa one by one. Even while shaking hands, he didn't let go of my hand. That small detail made me smile.
Rana-sa soon got busy talking with businessmen and women, discussing work so seriously—as if this was a meeting, not a party. I stood beside him, nodding occasionally, but honestly... i was bored.
'Yaha party mein bhi business ki baatein? Meeting hi karni thi toh mujhe kyu saath laaye??!' (Talking business even at a party? If you had to have a meeting, then why did you bring me along??!) I sighed inwardly.
I waited, hoping he would be done soon—but the discussions only continued. Finally, i pressed his hand lightly, just enough for him to notice. He looked at me immediately. I didn't need to explain much. He leaned closer, already understanding. "I want to roam around a bit," i whispered.
He nodded and making an excuse, i stepped away and went to the refreshment counter. "Soft drink," i told the waiter.
He handed me a glass. I took a sip—but the taste was strange. Bitter. Unusual. I frowned slightly but brushed it off. 'Mehenge drinks aise hi hote honge', (Expensive drinks must be like this) I thought because i had never been to this expensive party and had never drank such expensive drinks.
Around me, some people had started dancing while others were chatting happily. I watched them feeling restless. I wanted to dance too... so i looked towards where rana-sa would be chatting.. Nope doing meeting!
I searched for him with my eyes everywhere... but Rana-sa was nowhere in sight now.
That's when a man approached me and said, "Rana-sa ne aapko waha bulaya hai." (Rana-sa has called you there.) I frowned for a moment—but i wanted to see Rana-sa anyway. So i followed him.
As soon as Siya left the party, that waiter behind her made a call and whispered, "Kaam ho gaya... Boss!" (The work is done... Boss!)
As we walked out of the party hall into the corridors, something felt wrong. My head felt heavy. My vision blurred slightly like the floor beneath me wasn't steady anymore.
I tried to focus by blinking me eyes very fast. We stopped in front of a room. The man opened the door and said, "Rana-sa andar hi hain." (Rana-sa is inside.)
But the moment I stepped inside, fear crept into my chest because the room was empty. Before i could react, the door shut behind me— and locked.
My heart slammed against my ribs. I turned, my vision swimming and saw the man standing there, looking at me in a way that made my skin crawl. I tried to stay alert, blinking hard, forcing myself to remain conscious.
"Stay away," I said weakly. "Rana-sa won't spare you." He laughed coldly. "Jaise unhe pata chalne wala hai." (As if he was about to find out.)
I backed away, panic rising. "Stay away!" I repeated, my voice shaking but he didn't listen. He pulled my wrist and thrown me on the bed. Before i could move, he hovered over me and started kissing my neck and started removing my saree pallu from the shoulder.
My head was spinning violently. I was feeling disgusted and my breath came fast and uneven, fear wrapping tightly around me.
Somehow, gathering whatever strength i had left, i pushed him away and stood— and slapped him hard against his face. For a split second, he just stared at me, stunned. But then his vision darkened. "You think you can raise your hand at me?" he snapped angrily.
He choked me by pressing his fingers hard around my neck and pinned me to the near by wall. My chest felt tight. I couldn't breathe properly. Desperately, my hand brushed against something nearby—a glass bottle.
Without thinking, i grabbed it and struck. He stumbled back with a cry. Fear rushed through me, but it didn't stay fear for long. It burned, changed—into something fierce and unrecognizable.
"You bitch—" he spat. That word did it. My fear shattered into rage. "How dare you," I said, my voice trembling with fury. "You dare call me that? Haan!!" i shouted at him, "Let me show you how much of a bitch i'm..!"
My mind flashed to a memory—gentler, sacred. The first time Rana-sa had ever touched me in the study and had came closed to me, the silent question in his eyes, the respect that had made me trust him unknowingly. He had never crossed a line... Never taken without permission.
And this man had dared not only to touch me, but also kissed me. Before he could recover, i delivered a brutal knee strike to his main part and instantly a scream erupted from him— a sound so hollow and desperate it seemed his soul had left his body. That was my chance and i ran.
My hands shook as i fumbled with the lock, my eyes barely able to see. My heart screamed only one name— Rana-sa.
The door finally opened. I ran into the corridor not knowing where i was going, only that i had to get away. Behind me, his angry shout echoed, "Ae ladki—ruk!" (Hey girl—stop!)
But i didn't. I ran... because I had to survive... had to go to rana-sa.
As i was running, my body suddenly collided with someone. Strong arms wrapped around me instantly—firm, protective—holding me like i was something fragile... something precious. For a second, my racing heart paused. That hold felt familiar. Too familiar. Just like Rana-sa...
But my mind was spinning, my vision blurred and fear was louder than logic. I couldn't see his face. I couldn't understand what he was saying. All i knew was that i had to reach Rana-sa.
I pushed him away with whatever strength i had left. He was saying something— my name, i think—but his voice sounded distant, muffled like i was underwater. Panic took over me completely.
I raised my hand and slapped him hard across the face. "Stay away!" I shouted, my voice breaking. "I want to go to Rana-sa!" My chest hurt as i screamed again, louder this time, desperate and trembling, "Rana-sa! Rana-sa!"
Avinash's POV:
I was talking to one of my business associates when something felt... off. Instinctively, my eyes moved toward the drinks counter. Rani-sa wasn't there.
I scanned the hall once. Then again. Slowly, uneasiness crept into my chest. 'Where is she?' I thought.
Excusing myself abruptly, i started moving around the hall—near the dance floor first then the eating area. My gaze searched every familiar corner, every group of people.
She was nowhere. Panic surged through me. I immediately called Bhairav. "Track Rani-sa. Right now." Yes.. i'd put a tracker in her anklets for safety purposes.
Within a minute, he replied, his voice tense. "Rana-sa... Rani-sa is inside the hotel only.. but her location shows the room corridor area." My blood ran cold.
Without wasting another second, i headed straight toward the corridors, telling Bhairav to join me immediately. I couldn't take risks—not with her. If any of my enemies were involved, they wouldn't hesitate to hurt her just to get to me.
As soon as i entered the corridor area, i saw her. My Rani-sa. She was moving unsteadily, almost running, her steps uneven and careless—nothing like the way she normally walked and i knew for sure that she is drunk. Her saree was slightly disheveled and even from a distance, i could see faint marks on her neck.
My blood boiled and at the same time my heart shattered and i rushed toward her. "Rani-sa!" I pulled her into my arms instinctively, holding her tightly, as if letting go would make her disappear.
But she pushed me away with surprising force and slapped me. "Stay away!" she shouted, her voice trembling. "I want to go to Rana-sa!" Before i could say anything, she started calling out loudly, "Rana-sa! Rana-sa!"
Pain shot straight through my chest. I gently held her face between my hands, forcing her to look at me. "Rani-sa... I am Rana-sa," I said firmly. "Your Rana-sa."
She blinked rapidly, squinting her eyes at my face as if trying to focus. Then she shook her head. "No."
My heart sank when she said no. "You are not my Rana-sa," she said seriously. "Mere Rana-sa kale kauve jaise hain!" (My Rana-sa is like a black crow!)
I froze. "Kale... kauve?" (Black... crows?) I repeated, completely stunned. She nodded earnestly. "Haan! Unhe koi aur rang pasand hi nahi. Hamesha kale kauve bane ghoomte rehte hain!" (Yes! He didn't like any other color. He always roam around dressed in black like crows!)
For a moment, i didn't know whether to be shocked, worried... or laugh. She blinked again, then looked down at my clothes carefully. "Aree haan..." (Oh yes...) she murmured, pointing her index finger slightly at me. "Tum bhi kale kauve bane hue ho." (You also are dressed like a black crow.)
I exhaled sharply, utterly speechless—my chest tight with fear, relief, and an ache I couldn't name. She suddenly reached up and touched my face, her fingers warm against my skin. She leaned closer, blinking rapidly, as if trying to fix my image in her blurred vision.
Then she smiled—soft, relieved. "Yes," she murmured. "You are my Rana-sa." Relief crashed into me so hard my chest hurt. Thank God. She recognized me.
But before i could say anything, she stepped back abruptly. I frowned, confused—until what she did next stunned me completely. She slapped me again and the sound echoed loudly in the corridor.
"Where were you, huh?" she demanded her voice shaking. "Main kab se aapko dhoond rahi thi!" (I have been looking for you for a long time!)
Before i could even react, she threw her arms around me. Instinctively, i wrapped mine around her waist and back, holding her tightly, grounding her and myself as well from that slap. Her body trembled against mine.
"You know..." she whispered brokenly. "You know that man tried to.. to touch me. He... he kissed me here..." She pulled back slightly so i could see and pointed toward her neck. "See? i was scared," she said, her voice cracking.
Something inside me snapped. Before i could respond, a harsh voice echoed down the corridor. "Ae ladki, yahan aa!" (Hey girl, come here!) My head snapped up.
The man was coming toward us, stumbling, clearly hurt, one hand pressed against his head, blood streaking down. He hadn't noticed us yet. His steps were unsteady, desperate. "You bitch, where were you—" he barked.
That word and my blood boiled. His eyes widened the moment he saw me standing there— with my Rani-sa in my arms.
But before i could move or do something— my khargosh wriggled free from my hold and stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "You dared call me that again?" she said, her voice sharp with fury.
Then she walked toward him until she reached near him, her eyes sharp and unflinching. "Lagta hai room mein prasad achhe se nahi mila... ruko, firse deti hoon..!" (It seems the prasad in the room didn’t reach properly... wait, I’ll give it again..!) she said, her voice calm but deadly.
I blinked at her. 'Kis prasad ki baat kar rahi hai... meri jaan?' (Which prasad are you talking about... my love?) Before i could even process what she meant, she kicked him squarely in between his legs and he collapsed.
But she wasn't done. She launched into a flurry of precise, fierce strikes—kicks, slaps, grabbing him, holding him off balance. Each movement showed her strength and determination. I stood frozen, wide-eyed, thinking: 'Meri Rani-sa... toh mujhse bhi khatarnaak hai.' (My Rani-sa... is even more dangerous than me.)
And then i smirked to myself. Of course she is. She's my Rani-sa, My Jaan— always ahead of me.
I noticed Bhairav standing nearby, his eyes wide, watching the entire scene unfold like he couldn't believe it.
Finally, she straightened up and called out to me. "Rana-saaaa... mere haathon mein dard ho raha hai!" (Rana-saaa… my hands are hurting!) I rushed forward. She tried to stand firmly, but now, wearing only one heel, she stumbled as she has removed one heel for beating that bastard. But i was quick enough to catch her. "Thyaan se!" (Carefully!) i warned steadying her.
She looked up at me, her eyes sparkling, "Majja aa gaya!" (That was fun!) she laughed, her joy echoing through the corridor. I couldn't help smiling back. Seeing her happy—seeing her stand up for herself— made my chest swell with pride. 'Meri jaan... meri fearless, unstoppable Rani-sa.'
But then a thought struck me. This punishment... it still wasn't enough. I noticed her hands clutching my arms tightly to keep balance. I gently held her hands in mine. "Jaan... jyada dard ho raha hai kya?" (Darling… are you feeling a lot of pain?) I asked.
She shook her head. No. I bent down and then i carefully removed her other heel. She just smiled at me, eyes gleaming. When i stood up, she suddenly jumped, full of energy and excitement. "I want to dance!" she shouted.
When she said she wanted to dance, i was honestly amused like.. Right now? In this situation?
Before i could even react, she said again—this time with pure excitement shining in her eyes, "Mujhe aapke saath dance karna hai, Rana-sa." (I want to dance with you, Rana-sa)
I sighed internally. I was in no mood to dance— not even a little. But seeing her this happy, this alive, i didn't have the heart to refuse outright. "Nahi, Rani-sa," (No, Rani-sa) I began gently. "Aap abhi hosh mein nahi hain, aur—" (You are not in your senses right now, and—)
I didn't get to finish. She smacked my hands away—the same hands I was using to steady her— and before I could react, a loud sound echoed in the corridor.
CRACK!
